US reCommerce site sees 171% jump in MacBook trade-ins as WWDC refresh rumours flood in
Rumours that Apple will announce new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models at its WWDC next week have sparked a 171 per cent increase in MacBook trade-ins on US reCommerce site Gazelle, the company has revealed.
Gazelle’s most recent statistics show that compared to the same week leading up to WWDC last year, trade-ins this year have risen by 171 per cent. See: MacBook Air (2013) review.
Over the past week, the MacBook Pro represented 57 per cent of all laptop trade-ins on Gazelle, making it the most popular product on the site.
Reports suggesting that new MacBooks will be launched on Monday at Apple’s WWDC keynote have been flooding in. On Wednesday, 9To5Mac claimed to have spoken to sources who say that specific pricing for previously leaked SKUs corresponds to Apple’s 11in and 13in MacBook Air models, adding evidence that we will see those models refreshed next week.

As well as new MacBooks, Apple is also rumoured to be launching a new Mac Pro at WWDC, and possibly also refreshed Mac mini and Apple TV. See: New Mac Pro release date, rumours and leaked images
It’s pretty certain that we’ll be getting our first look at iOS 7 and Mac OS X 10.9 at the event too.
